The making of a hatchet. from hand to hand.

More of a visual post, i wanted to share a gallery of how a hatchet handle is shaped by hand. I use various tools, starting with the bandsaw to cut out a basic shape from a stancil. I then use various rasps, spokeshaves and drawknives to carve out the final handle. The Japanese Saw rasp is by far the most useful tool for the purpose. Together with a good vise of course.
